I understand exactly what you mean however. Though I feel this is just the way PSO2 was created; it does not attempt to PSO2 Meseta maintain participant's hands in any way.
Take force such as. You unlock mix techs at level 70 but NOWHERE in the game does this tell you that. You need to go upstairs in the main lobby and speak with an npc you have never had to previously talk to to do a client order to unlock them.
I can understand this issue. The game essentially front loads so much shit that they expect one to read for a game I do not even know if I'll enjoy or not.
My experience had been such:"Oh phantasy star is out on steam today I'll test it out to see if I even care about it", do intro things for some nice gameplay. Game screeches to a halt and bombards me with textbox following text box and after that the intro video, I must keep talking to individuals for more text boxes. Then more tutorials I get by speaking to random NPC's around the gateway that I don't recall being directed into in the initial place for matters such as the mag and these. Then I see literally every NPC has like 5+ requests that I don't even know what's going on. So now I'm like 30-40 minutes in (likely more) once I even created my character and that I haven't even done one mission outside of that first one.
This was on top of trying to work out how the menus are even layed out or function, so I forgot shit. Shit that I don't know if I can reaccess the tutorials to get. At some point I simply stopped going through this"simplicity in" procedure they have you do since it was becoming so much to keep track of so fast when all I wanted to do was see if I even enjoy the game.
Like with your example of arks missions at the very start, I immediately forgot that even existed due to all the other tutorials it bombarded me with (IIRC the minute after you're made to open the arks mission page it loads that movie roughly PSO2). I believed those popups for doing stuff was automatically deposited somewhere until I moved back to look at the arks mission menu after. Not only this but there is so many things listed there that I just never read through them all so even what it might lead you also were lost on me because I did not feel like keeping up with customer orders/arks missions/tutorials/trying to play with the game so pso2 meseta buy xbox one early.
